Now available at the WVZ: Web Video Hosting!
One component of the WebVideoZone's exciting new Big3 web video system is our web video hosting service, which is included with every membership plan. Here are the details... All WVZ members have access to our Big3 web video service:
When you create or edit a video player, you have the following three options for specifying your video source file:
If you choose "My FLV video file is located on another web server," you simply indicate the URL path to your FLV on another web server (for example, yoursite.com/path-to/your-video.flv). Previously, this was the only option available when using the Web Video Player. However, with the addition of video hosting here at the WVZ, you now have two new options: choose a video in your account, or upload a new one. If you'd like to upload a new video for use with a player...
Once you've uploaded and converted your video, it is available in your account for use with any current or new video player. You even can use the same FLV video file in multiple video players at the same time. When viewing the "FLV Video File Information" page for a particular video that you have uploaded and converted, you'll see information about the video file, and whether it's currently in use with an active video player. From this page, you'll also be able to download your converted FLV file, change the video file name, or delete it from your account:
To use an FLV video file in a player, either edit an existing player configuration, selecting the video file name from the dropdown box; or, click on the video file name in WVZ Hosting Central, and then select "Create a Player Using This Video" to use the video with a new player. You can also upload images to the WVZ for use with your video players (e.g., the Intro, Logo, Branding, and/or Exit images). To upload an image for use with a new or existing player, select "Upload an Image" in your control panel, and then add it to your account via this upload tool:
Your uploaded images immediately become available for use with all of your players. To use the image, when creating or editing a player configuration, simply select the image name from the dropdown box. If you prefer not to upload your images to the WVZ, you still have the option to use images hosted on other servers by providing an image URL path when requested (e.g., for the Intro image).
Where to host your web videos...You may be thinking, "Why can't I just host the videos myself, or use a free service such as YouTube?" Well, you can. But... If you're trying to create a professional impression, relying upon YouTube or other freebie services such as Google Video to host your web site videos can be a big mistake. (To find out why, please see the article, How a custom-branded Web Video Player™ can help you sell more products online.) Our dedicated servers have been set up and optimized for the high-speed delivery of your videos. Depending upon the membership level you select (see below), you will have storage space for your videos and images for use with your players, along with a monthly bandwidth allowance. You can upload and store as many videos as your plan permits. The WVZ web video system makes it a breeze for you to change, swap and test different videos with different players with the click of a button. And remember, you also have the option to host your FLV video and image files on another web server (e.g., where you host your web site). So if you'd like, you can host some videos with the WVZ, and others on your own server. It's entirely up to you - you're in control.
