How to Use the Video Affiliate System™
Wouldn't it be amazing if you could combine affiliate marketing with web video? Thanks to The WebVideoZone's Video Affiliate System, now you can... The WebVideoZone's Video Affiliate System™ is for online marketers who can see the tremendous profit potential that is possible when you combine internet video with an existing affiliate program. When your affiliates add your videos to their sites, your web video players are transformed into eye-catching, attention-grabbing affiliate links that will drive tons of targetted to traffic to your site. And believe it or not, you and your affiliates only need to do three simple things to make it happen... Here's How the Video Affiliate System WorksWhen you're logged in as a Gold Member, go to your control panel and either select an existing Web Video Player™ configuration, or go ahead and create a new one. At the very bottom of your player's configuration, you'll see a section for the Video Affiliate System that looks like this:
This is where you'll need to specify the in-coming affiliate link you give to your affiliates for the purpose of sending traffic to your site. For example, let's say you provide your affiliates with a link to your site such as: http://www.yoursite.com/script.cgi?id=AffCodeHere You'll place your link in this field, but you need to make one important change: In the part of the URL query string where the affiliate ID code is located ('AffCodeHere' in the above), replace it with the token word, 'SWAP' (all caps, no quotes): http://www.yoursite.com/script.cgi?id=SWAP The Video Affiliate System will replace the SWAP token with the affiliate's actual affiliate ID code (more on this below). After you've provided the link, hit the "save configuration" button. On the next page, you'll see this:
This is where you will be provided with the "Video Affiliate Link" for this particular player, which you then give to your affiliates. For every player you create and choose to make available to your affiliates, you will have a different Video Affiliate Link.
You will then contact your affiliates and explain to them what you're doing (which is, incorporating video into your affiliate program - see sample email below). Direct them to your Video Affiliate Link. The snapshot to the right is what they will see when they visit the URL you provide. Here's an example of the Video Affiliate Link page which you will be asking your affiliates to visit. Once at the Video Affiliate Link page, your affiliate partners will be asked to do three simple things: 1. Enter their unique affiliate ID code For example, if you have an affiliate whose unique ID code is "partnerjoe," and the affiliate link he uses to send you traffic looks like this: http://www.yoursite.com/script.cgi?id=partnerjoe ...then this particular affiliate would enter "partnerjoe" (no quotes) into the box. This is also explained to your affiliates on the Video Affiliate Link page. 2. Press "Get Code" button The form then gets processed, and a small snippet of code is returned, along with instructions for adding it to a web page. 3. Add generated code to web page Your affiliate then takes the generated code and adds it to any web pages where the affiliate wants to display the video affiliate player.
Looking at the snapshot above, the snippet contains the unique ID code "partnerjoe." This is what enables transactions to be tracked for the affiliate. Test the player generator for yourself to see how it works. OK - now let's summarize the required steps: The 3 simple steps you take...
The 3 simple steps your affiliates take...
And that's it! It couldn't be any easier for you, or your affiliates. (But if you can think of anything that would indeed make it better, please let us know.) Where are the affiliate links?Any time you include an affiliate link in your player configuration, the Video Affiliate System is automatically activated. When this happens, your video player is transformed into an affiliate player, and the affiliate link overrides the other click-through links you may have specified elsewhere in the configuration. When utilized in an affiliate player, the following automatically become affiliate click-through links:
All out-going links from the player become affiliate links except:
What to say to your affiliatesThe most important step in this process is effectively communicating to affiliates what you are trying to accomplish, and how it will benefit them to participate. Here's an example of an email you can send to your affiliates to encourage them to add your videos to their sites:
Dear Affiliate Name, I'd like to take a moment to share something exciting with you. It's a new marketing tool we're utilizing that can help you to dramatically increase your affiliate commissions. Did you know that you can now add videos to your web site that are actually commission-generating affiliate links? And the best part is, it's simple to do and won't cost you anything. Here's how it works... 1. Visit this link below: 2. Following the simple instructions on the above page to generate an affiliate player for your site using your affiliate ID code. 3. Take the code provided to you by the player generator and add it to any web page where you would like our video to appear. Here's the video that will show on your web page: Once you follow the steps above, your player will automatically be transformed into an "Video Affiliate Player," embedded with your affiliate link. When your visitors click on the player's built-in links, they will be sent to our site via your affiliate link. Any transactions that result will be tracked by our affilate program, resulting in a commission for you. For more information, you can visit The WebVideoZone. They offer the "Video Affiliate System" (tm) making this all possible: So, if you're interested in earning more commissions by promoting our product/service with affiliate videos on your site, please click here to get started: Thank you! A few things to keep in mind:You can change any of the following, at any time, without having to notify your affiliates or ask them to do anything:
To demonstrate, let's say you you decide you want to change the video that displays on your affiliate sites. All you have to do is change the FLV video file name in your player's configuration. For example, if the video you currently use in your player is: http://www.yoursite.com/folder/video1.flv ...and you create a new video (video2.flv) that you would like to display on your affiliates' web sites, simply upload video2.flv to your server, and change the player's path accordingly - for example: http://www.yoursite.com/folder/video2.flv Once you make this change, the video players on all your affiliates' sites will automatically and immediately start showing the updated video. Your affiliates don't have to do anything. (You don't even have to tell them!) And remember, as others add your videos to their sites, not only will your traffic and sales increase, but so will your bandwidth consumption. So keep an eye on your server stats to make sure you're not using more than your web host allows. If you have any questions about how to implement The WebVideoZone's Video Affiliate System, please submit them via the forum. Good luck - and get ready for a ton of targeted affiliate traffic and sales!
