The WebVideoZone Player 'configuration'... what is it, exactly?

To understand how the WVZ Player works, you first need to familiarize yourself with the term player configuration. Don't worry, it only sounds scary. It's actually quite simple. Here's what you need to know...

Before you can add the WVZ Player to your web pages, you must first create what's known as a player configuration. This is basically a set of rules that tells the player what to do, and how to appear on your web page. For each video you show on your sites, you will have a seperate configuration.

To create a configuration, you simply:

  1. Login into your WVZ account.
  2. Go to your account control panel.
  3. Select 'Create New Configuration'

At this point, you will see the configuration options. Specify the features and options you would like to utilize for this particular video presentation, and then save your configuration.

After saving, you will then be given a small piece of javascript code that you add to any web page where you want your video to play....

There is no limit to the number of players you can have on a page, or the number of web sites to which you can add your video. The number of configurations you are permitted in your account varies, depending upon your membership plan.

Once you create and save a configuration, it remains in your account until you delete it. You can go back and edit the player settings at any time, and your changes will appear instantly and automatically on every web page on which your video appears.

For example, if you decide to change the:

  • Player color or size
  • Intro, Logo, and/or Exit Images
  • Logo or Exit click-through links
  • Or even the FLV video file itself...

...you simply change it in your control panel, and the changes will be reflected immediately on any page showing your video. You never have to touch the code on the web page again!

Examples where this would be useful:

1. You do a "tip of the week" type of video...

...and have your video appearing on multiple web pages and web sites. Create one player configuration, and add it to all your pages. When you have a new video you want to show, simply upload it to the web and specify its location in your existing player (e.g., change 'yoursite.com/folder/video1.flv' to 'yoursite.com/folder/video2.flv'). Your new video instantly goes 'live' across all your pages, replacing the old one.

2. In conjunction with the Video Affiliate System™...

...you can change the video that plays on all of your affiliates' sites at once - with all of them updating instantly, and at the same time. Your affiliates don't even have to know you're changing the video. You control everything remotely.

3. When taking advantage of your player's call-to-action capabilities...

...you can remotely change features such as:

  • the message that appears at the end of the video
  • the "click to play" Intro Image that appears before the video
  • the URL you send people to after the video
  • if, when and where the interactive Logo Image appears during the video
  • and more...

Player Configurations - Summary

When you no longer want a configuration, click the 'delete this configuration' link, and it's gone. When you want to see how many people have viewed your video, click the 'view configuration stats' link...

Once you've created a configuration that you like, you don't have to create it from scratch all over again for new configurations. Just click the 'clone this configuration' link, and you will have an exact copy of the configuration available in your account.

Simply make any necessary changes (e.g., change the FLV video file name), add the snippet of code to your web pages, and you're done!

Adding high-quality video presentations to your web site no longer needs to be a difficult, confusing and time-intensive process. By using The WebVideoZone Player, putting web video online can actually be a fast, easy and fun thing to do!
