Here's the story of "The Star Wars Kid"...

His name is Ghyslain, and he lives in Quebec. At the time this video was made in 2002, he was 15 years old. Apparently, Ghyslain decided to have some solitary fun at his high school's video studio.

Using a golf ball retriever as a makeshift lightsaber, Ghyslain recorded himself doing his best Jedi Knight impression as he fought a mock battle with invisible forces of evil.

Over the course of a minute and forty eight seconds, we witness this young man stumbling and fumbling his way through an imaginary duel (sound effects included).

Knowing this was never meant to be made public, you feel his pain (while enjoying a giggle or two). You see, Ghyslain's "friends" found the tape that he made, and uploaded the video to the web as a joke. Some friends.

And thanks to an enduring viral video that has been seen tens of millions of times, young Ghyslain will be forever remembered as... The Star Wars Kid.
