RSS refers to formats used for the syndication of content (audio, video, text) via the web. It is important tool utilized by news websites, blogs and podcasters (both audio and video).

RSS delivers information as an XML file called an RSS feed, webfeed, RSS stream, or RSS channel. These feeds provide web content or summaries of the content, along with links to the location of the full versions of the content.

These web feeds allow those who follow a website to track recent updates to the site using a program known as an RSS aggregator.
