Video On Demand
Video on demand refers to video programming that is available when and where you want it, as opposed to being at the mercy of a broadcaster's schedules. For example, video podcasts can be viewed whenever, wherever and however the user desires (subject to technical limitations). On demand video systems allow let users select and watch video content over a network either by "streaming" content (viewing while the video is being downloaded) or "downloading" it in which the program is delivered in its entirety before viewing begins. In many cases, on demand videos can be paused, fast forwarded, rewound etc. However, this kind of streaming may require greater network bandwidth.
